Find Your Voice India is committed to ensuring the safety and protection of all children participating in our services. This Child Protection Policy outlines our procedures and practices to safeguard minors (children aged 12-16 years) from harm, abuse, or exploitation.

Scope

This policy applies to all staff, volunteers, and contractors engaged with Find Your Voice India who interact with children as part of their roles.

Principles
  • Best Interests of the Child: The welfare of the child is paramount in all our activities.

  • Zero Tolerance: We have zero tolerance for child abuse and exploitation.

  • Confidentiality: Child protection matters are handled with strict confidentiality.

Staff and Volunteer Conduct
  • All staff and volunteers must undergo background checks before engaging with children.

  • Staff and volunteers are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct when interacting with children.

  • Any form of inappropriate behavior or abuse will result in immediate disciplinary action.

Training
  • Staff and volunteers will receive training on child protection policies and procedures.

  • Regular refresher courses will be conducted to ensure up-to-date knowledge and practices.

Reporting and Response
  • Any concerns, suspicions, or allegations of child abuse must be reported immediately to the designated Child Protection Officer (CPO).

  • The CPO will take prompt action, which includes documenting the incident, investigating, and reporting to relevant authorities as required by law.

  • All reports will be handled confidentially and sensitively.

Parental Involvement
  • We encourage parental involvement and will obtain consent from parents or guardians before engaging children in our services where applicable.

  • On request, Parents or guardians will be informed about our child protection policies and procedures.

Review and Monitoring
  • This policy will be reviewed annually to ensure its effectiveness and relevance.

  • Feedback from staff, volunteers, children, and parents will be considered during the review process.
