A Thinking and Speaking Skills Workshop

SpeakUp! is an introductory workshop designed to gently ease students into the world of public speaking. It helps them build the habit of thinking before they speak, while also letting go of the fear and hesitation often associated with speaking in front of others.

Rather than focusing on performance or perfection, SpeakUp! prioritises participation, comfort, and confidence. Students are exposed to multiple speaking formats and thinking activities, allowing them to experience public speaking as something safe, expressive, and enjoyable. The core intent is simple: help students step forward, use their voice, and feel comfortable being heard.

Designed by Find Your Voice India, SpeakUp! creates a supportive, non-judgemental environment where students are encouraged to speak freely, without worrying about right or wrong answers.

What Students Will Experience

Students are taken on a gradual journey from hesitation to expression through:

• Low-pressure speaking games and icebreakers

• Opportunities to speak in pairs, small groups, and to the whole room

• Exposure to different formats such as prepared, impromptu, group, and reflective speaking

• Simple tools to organise thoughts before speaking

• Playful exploration of voice, body language, and presence

• Reflection activities that help students notice their own growth

The emphasis throughout the program is on safety, encouragement, and participation—not performance or evaluation.
